
Rockland County is the lead agency to establish a Quiet Zones at 21 grade crossings under the Federal Railroad Administration Rule Part IV, Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration 49 CFR Parts 222 and 229 Use of Locomotive Horns at Highway-Rail Grade Crossings; Final Rule.
We will provide you with a brief overview of the project and information on the proposed supplemental safety measures (SSM's) for each crossing.
